How to measure pH using pH paper

pH is a measurement of the level of hydrogen ions in a solution, this sits on a globally established scale from 1-14.

There is a range of ways used to test the pH of a sample. For virtually anything you want to test from water to ketchup to saliva there is a way of measuring the level of pH.

The most simple of these methods is using pH strips or pH paper, check out our video on the subject:

You can find a wide range of pH papers and strips on our website here, including a number of different pH test strips and pH papers.  The ones shown in the video cover the whole pH scale from 1-14, but if you know for example your sample is going to be between pH 4-7 you can purchase strips/paper that only cover that particular range and will give you a reading in smaller increments to the nearest 0.5 pH.
