My Löser Osmometer Type 6 is showing the wrong value on calibration, what can I do?
Q: My Löser Osmometer Type 6 is showing the wrong value on calibration, what can I do? [caption id="attachment_9720" align="aligncenter" width="199"] Löser Osmometer Type 6[/caption] The Loser Type 6 and 6M Osmometer models can be calibrated with distilled water, 300 mOsm calibration standard or 900 mOsm calibration standard. Whatever liquid you use to calibrate, the correct value should be displayed on the screen following the calibration reading. If this does not happen push the corresponding calibration button to correct the result and re-calibrate the instrument correctly. [caption id="attachment_9724" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Osmometer Type 6 calibration buttons Calibration buttons are found on the top right hand corner of Loser Osmometer Type 6 and 6M models[/caption] For example, if you are calibrating with distilled water the result should show "0 mosm" - if it does not this means that the calibration of the instrument is out. Push the white button for calibration to 0 - the value displayed changes to 0, the calibration is stored in the memory and the buzzer will sound. The same principle should be used if calibrating with standards at 300 mosm or 900 mosm using the corresponding red 300 button and yellow 900 button.   If you have any questions regarding osmometers and freezing point analysis, follow the links above or contact us;
