New HSE guidance has suggested the bacterial contamination of fluids and associated machinery and pipework should be monitored and controlled. specifically this means that cutting fluids should be subject to periodic checks
The advice suggest weekly checks
Camlab can supply a simple test that takes 48 hours. simply dip the slides into the fluid, seal up in the supplied tube and put in an incubatorat 30 degrees. You'll need a thermometer to check the incubator. you don't need to be an expert to use this simple test. you can comply with the guidance for only a few pounds per test.
