About the range:

The Stuart premium range features a selection of aluminium top hotplate and ceramic and aluminium top hotplate stirrers in a choice of 8 vibrant colours. Each unit in the range has a large square 15cm x 15cm top plate and is supplied with an external Pt100 temperature probe for accurate sample temperature control. These hotplates and stirrers have an advanced user interface with programming ability.

Ceramic top plate - which is chemically resistant, with cool edges to prevent burns.
Maximum plate temperature of 450°C
15L maximum capacity (not to be used with highly viscous liquids, for this we recommend an overhead stirrer).
50 - 1250 rpm speed range.
Supplied with pt100 temperature probe and 2 x magnetic stir bars.
A full-color 4” TFT screen which simultaneously displays target settings and the actual temperature and stirring speed of the sample. An advanced control algorithm automatically measures the rate of temperature rise to judge the capacity and nature of samples, then optimizes the heating rate.
An audible alert sounds when the set temperature has been reached.
Individual temperature and speed profiles can be created and saved to the unit, allowing for fast setup of complicated experimental procedures.
“hot” warning light flashes whenever the plate surface temperature is above 50°C and continues to flash until the temperature drops below 50°C, even when unplugged.
Built-in connectivity allows the unit to be updated in the field when new firmware versions are available.
Durable and robust - Front control panel resists spills and the glass is chemically toughened for extra resilience.
Glazed with BioCote® for antimicrobial protection - BioCote is formulation with silver ions and provides built-in antimicrobial protection reducing odor and stain causing microbes on the surface by up to 99.99%. This help prolong instrument lifespan and contributes to a hygienic lab environment.
All units feature an integral fixing point for a retort rod.

Hotplate stirrers are also available with a aluminium top plate - which has rapid heating and better temperature uniformity.
Choice of 6 colours - blue, white, black, violet, avocado, tangerine, pink and red.

BioCote Benefits

What is BioCote?

BioCote anti-microbial coating additive is present on all Stuart brand equipment and offers anti-microbial action to help prevent cross-contamination.

This unique additive is applied during the manufacturing process and contains trace levels of active silver ions which provide an effective anti-microbial action, active against many strains of common bacteria and fungi, including Aspergillus niger, E.coli and Listeria mono.

This coating remains active for the entire product lifespan and can actually help in prolonging the life of products, where a build up of microbes may cause premature material degradation.

BioCote works by inhibiting bacteria in a number of ways including protein damage, cell membrane damage, oxidative damage and DNA interference. Ultimately, the bacteria are prevented from replicating. Without this, bacteria have been shown to die naturally within around 8 hours. BioCote works in a way different to antibiotics so it is currently effective against antibiotic resistant strains.

More recently, BioCote technology was proven effective against particular virus strains, with a reduction of 90% in 2 hours against feline coronavirus, strain Munich. Read more here.
