Eppendorf offer a comprehensive range of rotors for their 5425 centrifuge, accepting tubes up to 5.0ml volume:
- Rotor FA-24x2: Aerosol-tight with QuickLock® Lid for 24 x 1.5 / 2.0 mL tubes
- Rotor FA-24x2 - PTFE: Aerosol-tight with QuickLock® Lid for 24 x 1.5 / 2.0 mL tubes, with PTFE coating for higher chemical resistance.
- Rotor FA-10x5: Aerosol-tight with QuickLock® Lid for 10 x Eppendorf 5 mL tubes
- Rotor FA-18x2 Kit: Aerosol-tight with QuickLock® Lid for 18 x 2 mL vessels incl. "Spin columns"
- Rotor F-32x0.2-PCR: Rotor for 4 x PCR strips or 32 x PCR tubes
- Rotor 96x0.2-PCR: Rotor for 12 x PCR strips (0.1 or 0.2 mL) or 4 x ¼ twin.tec PCR plate 96, unskirted divisible or 96 x 0.2 mL PCR Tubes.
Spare rotor lids, aerosol-tight seals and buckets for swing out rotors are also available.

IVD vs GLP
The GLP Eppendorf centrifuge is part of the general lab products range and is suitable for most applications.
Centrifuges with IVD certification are registered as an in vitro diagnostic medical device under the IVD Directive 98/79/EC in Europe. If your lab is involved in clinical work, then you should consider getting a centrifgue with this certification. Having this certification may come at a price premium.
Rotor Nomenclature
Rotors come in two formats - Swing out and Fixed angle. The Eppendorf nomenclature explained so you know exactly what you're getting with each rotor model.

Features...Explained
Eppendorf centrifuges are packed full of numerous features (not all features are present in all centrifuges) and here we explain exactly what the terminology means.
- Optibowl: Quiet operation due to the design of the centrifuge bowl.
- QuickLock: Simple half turn to close rotor lid, making for more ergonomic operation.
- Soft-touch: The main centrifuge lid can be closed using just one finger of pressure.
- FastTemp: Fast pre-cooling before a temperature sensitive run.
- FastTemp pro: Programmable pre-cooling i.e. in the morning before the customer arrives in the lab.
- ECO Power: Shut-off engages after 8 hours of non-use.
