Turbidity A Potential Source of Error
Turbidity within a cuvette is often underestimated because it is not always visible. With the integrated turbidity control (NTUCheck), turbidity within the sample is determined for every measurement and in case of an interference the operator is warned.

2 cuvettes (A | B) with similar COD-concentrations. The turbidity in cuvette B influences the result up to 30 %.

Photometer update

Important firmware update for spectrophotometer NANOCOLOR® UV/VIS! As of now a new firmware update (version 8.0.3) is available. Please update your NANOCOLOR® spectrophotometer, so your device is up to date and our latest firmware optimizations are available on your NANOCOLOR® UV/VIS.

Important note UV/VIS and VIS update 1:

After the successful update of the photometer a zero calibration is required. Please use the calibration cuvette delivered with the photometer and follow the display instructions for zero calibration.

The current update performs an automatical system reset on your photometer! Be sure to save your data and user-defined methods on your PC before updating the device! Important note UV/VIS and VIS update 3: If you use the MACHEREY-NAGEL PC-Software for spectrophotometers together with your photometer, an instrument update requires also an update of the PC-Software (V 7.0.0). The instrument's new data set can only be exported into and read by the new PC-Software version.

July 2020

NANOCOLOR Potassium 50 (REF 985045) has been improved. The change is introduced from LOT 45004, which is available from stock as of 20th July 2020.

The test is now produced with an integrated ammonium compensation. The modified recipe allows a simple determination of potassium in the presence of an ammonium interference up to a concentration of 200 mg/L NH4-N, which is unique in the market.

The use of the additional ammonium compensation reagent (REF 918045) is therefore no longer necessary. Additional information on this topic will be part of our upcoming water news mailing.

Please note, that the test procedure has changed.

An update of the photometers is not required.

The NANOCOLOR^® 500 D filter photometer is being phased out this year after more than 10 years on the market. Currently, a certain, but limited, number of devices is still available. Macherey Nagel will continue to offer support for the device. Spare parts will still be available.

The NANOCOLOR^® 500 D will be replaced by the new device, the NANOCOLOR^® Advance. Information is an upcoming instrument soon.

The Camlab Service Department have over 60 years experience in scientific instrumentation. We have a number of highly qualified internal and field-based service engineers able to perform a variety of jobs including preventative maintenance servicing and calibration.

Camlab can offer yearly service contracts which include two main types of preventative maintenance/calibration services – the back to base service and an engineer visit to your site. These options are can be offered with differing turn around times depending on the instrument type and your requirements along with loan instruments if available.
