Hach HQ1140 Portable EC/TDS Meter kit with rugged conductivity electrode CDC40105, 5m cable
The Hach HQ range of meters is a collection of robust electrochemistry meters available with up to three channel inputs depending on the model. They are designed for use in both field and laboratory environments making them very versatile. The platform will allow you to collect intuitive, accurate measurements, manage data, and easily review results, while supplying an IP67 robustness rating.
They provide a true rugged, field-ready solution with on-screen, visual step-by-step operating guidance that provides users with confidence in reporting and managing their results. Unlike other field meters with basic user interfaces and without easily accessible data, the HQ Series secures, simplifies, and accelerates the complete measurement process for field users.
The HQ range is compatible with Hach Intellical probes - available in lab or rugged field versions.
HQ Range Overview:
The HQ meters are available in a number of model types:
HQ1110 - 1 channel pH/ORP meter
HQ1130 - 1 channel dissolved oxygen (DO) meter
HQ1140 - 1 channel conductivity/TDS meter
HQ2100 - 1 channel multi parameter (excluding ISE)
HQ2200 - 2 channel multi parameter (excluding ISE)
HQ4100 - 1 channel multi parameter with ISE
HQ4200 - 2 channel multi parameter with ISE
HQ4300 - 3 channel multi parameter with ISE
HQ4100,4200 and 4300 also feature a colour display
The meters can be supplied without electrodes or with handy starter kits featuring the most common electrodes and accessories all packed in a plastic case to get you started.
HQ Range Features:
HQ1140 can store 5000 data points
Simple and easy calibration - most measuring issues are down to incorrect calibration procedures. With the illustrated, step-by-step on-screen calibration and troubleshooting procedures calibration is simple even for beginner users.
Simple data transfer - you can transfer your data to a PC with the included USB cable or you can take advantage of additional data validation when you connect the meter to Claros Data Management Software (available separately)
Robust with IP67 waterproof rating - the entire HQ range has enhanced robustness for field use
Rechargeable lithium ion battery with USB power adapter
Huge selection of electrodes for any appplication - the HQ range is compatible with the intellical probe range which features both laboratory and rugged field electrodes in a wide variety of parameters. Intellical electrodes are smart and are automatically recognised by HQ meters, retain calibration history and method settings to minimise errors and setup time. They incorporate proven technology to deliver superior accuracy and response times – even when measuring challenging samples or challenging operating environments.
The portable Hach HQ range of electrochemistry meters replaces the old Sension+ and HQD range of meters.
Servicing Options Available
Have you considered your servicing requirements? Much like a car, scientific instruments may need a bit of care to keep them working reliably and at their most accurate.
The Camlab Service Department have over 60 years experience in scientific instrumentation. We have a number of highly qualified internal and field-based service engineers able to perform a variety of jobs including preventative maintenance servicing and calibration.
Camlab can offer yearly service contracts which include two main types of preventative maintenance/calibration services – the back to base service and an engineer visit to your site. These options are can be offered with differing turn around times depending on the instrument type and your requirements along with loan instruments if available.
A typical preventative maintenance service includes the following:
Inspection and testing of the unit
Dismantling, cleaning and inspection of the key parts
Correction of minor defects including adjustments if necessary
Reassembly and testing
Take post adjustment / cleaning readings
Supply of calibration certificate
Return of the item to you (back to base services)

What is conductivity? Conductivity is a measure of the ability of a substance to conduct an electrical flow through it. In water, many compounds and molecules (such as dissolved salts and inorganic materials) dissociate into constitutive ions. Ions are small sub-atomic particles and carry with them an electrical charge; either positive (cations) or negative (anions). These particles help condu...
Traditional glass pH electrodes are very delicate and need regular care to keep them in good working order. If your electrode has been damaged by exposure to incompatible chemicals such as proteins, heavy metals or sulphides, you may be able to clean and revive it using specialized cleaning solutions...
