Gooch Crucibles

• Ideal for drying precipitates to constant mass at 110°C
• Also suitable for ignition work up to 450°C (see safety notice)
• With integral glass sintered disc
• Manufactured from chemically resistant Pyrex® borosilicate glass

The labelling P1, P2, P3 etc refers to the porosity of the sintered disc in the base of the crucible;

• P1 = pore index 100 to 160 microns, ISO 4793 designation P160 - coarse precipitate filtration, gas dispersion, coarse grain material filtration
• P2 = pore index 40 to 100 microns, ISO 4793 designation P100, medium and crystalline preciptate filtration, medium filtration and washing of gases
• P3 = pore index 16 to 40 microns, ISO 4793 designation P40 - analytical work with medium precipitates
• P4 = pore index 10 to 16 microns, ISO 4793 designation P16 - analytical work with fine precipitates
• P5 = pore index 4 to 10 microns, ISO 4793 designation P10 - principally used for bacterial filtration

Safety Notice:

Avoid sudden changes in temperature which can result in thermal breakage.

For high temperature ignition work, use a furnace and slowly heat to 450°C maximum.

Allow to cool to below 200°C before removing from the furnace.
