These non-sterile mixed cellulose ester (MCE) membrane filters from are suitable for culturing, enumeration of bacteria and other cell counting methods. This range have a 0.3 micron pore size.
Composed of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate, giving the membrane a more uniform surface than pure nitrocellulose filters.
MCE filters support microbiology applications such as E.coli culturing. The porous membrane structure enables uptake of growth media to the bacterial colonies without chemically inhibiting their growth.

For microbiological quality control the membrane filter method is the optimal analytical method.

These membranes are characterized by a smoother and more uniform surface than pure nitrocellulose filters. Also, the color contrast provided by the filter surface facilitates particle detection and minimizes eye fatigue. The ME range has a lower cellulose acetate content compared to the WME range of membranes.

Identifying the filter material most suitable for your application based upon the nature of the liquid or gas you are filtering will ensure the best performance of your filter.
