The test is intended for the simple determination of ammonium in surface waters, in drinking water and in industrial wastewater. All necessary reagents are included so that the measurement can be performed immediately. Within 10 seconds you get a safe result. Ammonium is produced in nature by biological degradation and vegetable matter. High ammonium concentrations are often found in agricultural areas where fertilizer is used on a regular basis. Ammonium itself is relatively harmless. At higher pH levels, however, ammonia is produced from the ammonia, which is toxic to fish and other living things in the water
