Palintest Tubetests M/C are designed with different ranges to the standard Palintest COD tubetest vials. This means they are cross compatible with other brands of photometer, that operate to the detection limits of this range. Palintest COD Tubetests Mercury M/C are offered in the following ranges:

The reagent formulations are based on those specified in recognised international standard methods and meet the requirements of conformity testing against national and international standards.
Chloride is an interference to the COD test. Vials offer differing degrees of chloride suppression, so the most appropriate one for your COD and chloride levels should be selected.
The M mercury range is recommended for use where the samples contain chloride. These tubes will suppress up to 2,000mg/l chloride.
What is COD?
A chemical oxygen demand (COD) test is used to measure the amount of organic compounds in a water sample. It measures the capacity of water to consume oxygen during the decomposition of organic matter and the oxidation of inorganic chemicals such as Ammonia and nitrate.
How is COD measured?
COD can be measured using COD tubes and a compatible photometer/spectrophotometer. Tubes must first be digested in an appropriate COD vial digester, cooled, and the COD value can then be read on the meter. We recommend checking out this article here if you need more information on the process.
