Whatman Grade GF/D glass micro fibre filter papers, with 2.7µm pore size, are considerably faster in flow rate and overall filtration speed than cellulose filter papers of similar particle retention.
GF/D filters are thick and consequently exhibit a high loading capacity. Designed as a membrane pre filter and available in sizes to fit most holders. GF/D glass microfibre filters will provide good protection for finely retentive membranes.
They can be used in combination with Whatman GF/B filter papers to provide very efficient graded pre filter protection for membranes.
