About the range:
The Eppendorf Research plus pipette combines more than 60 years of experience in liquid handing and is one of the most commonly used pipettes in the world for a reason. It is ergonimic, ultra lightweight and most importantly highly accurate.
Features
- Lightweight and well balanced - the Research Plus feels very comfortable to use
- Air cushioned pipette for accurate pipetting of aqueous solutions
- Clear and easy to read adjustable four digit display, and smooth adjustable volume settings
- Can temporarily adjust the settings when pipetting difficult liquids such as ethanol and you can return it back to factory settings without calibration.
- Fully autoclavable with no need to disassemble (121 °C, 1 bar, 20 min)
- Minimal tip attachment forces due to a spring loaded tip code (in all models up to 1ml) - this helps to reduce stress and strain to the user during operation
- Low operation and tip ejection forces
Consumables
- Compatible with Eppendorf's epT.I.P.S. and ep Dualfilter T.I.P.S. ranges - available in a selection of purity grades and formats (such as bulk bags, individually wrapped and racked)
Options
- Variable volume models from 0.1µL up to 10mL
- Fixed Volume models from 10 µL up to 1000 µL - ideal for repetitive tasks
- Multichannels pipettes in 8, 12, 16 and 24 channels for high throughput applications.
- If you are pipetting a difficult or viscous liquid consider using the multipette.
Eppendorf offers a variety of products complying to the IVD Directive 98/79/EC. If your lab work is predominantly a medical, clinical or diagnostic application, an IVD compliant product should be used. If your lab work is rather research oriented, a General Lab Product (GLP) should be used.
Functionally, the products are the same, however the IVD compliant product has a number of additional pieces of documentation and analysis to meet the requirements of 98/79/EC including:
- Risk analysis procedures
- Interaction with authorities
- (Post) market surveillance
- Additional labeling requirements (CE-marking according to 98/79/EC)
For the above reasons, the IVD-compliant products usually fall at a slightly higher price point.
