Hanna's New Digital Refractometers

Hanna’s new Digital Refractometers are designed to measure sugar (five types), salt (Sodium Chloride), and the refractive index. There are also refractometers available for the measurement of solvents and anti-freeze (Glycol analysis) in mechanical applications.

This range can be broken down into refractometers for use by fruit growers and importers, food and drink manufacturers, wine producers, mechanics, the wastewater industry along with pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing. In addition to salinity testing of natural or artificial seawater, aquatics, and those involved in environmental monitoring are catered for.

Digital Refractometer

Hanna’s range of Refractometers cover the measurement of sugar in food and beverages, seawater analysis, Glycol analysis and Sodium Chloride in food.

All Hanna refractometers have Automatic Temperature Compensation, BEPS (Battery Error Prevention System), IP65 Water protection, single-point calibration, small sample size, stainless steel sample well, ABS Thermoplastic casing, start-up and unit selection. These digital refractometers are suitable for field or lab use.

Individual range benefits include:

Brewing Industry

Hanna's Digital Refractometer combines form and function into one compact unit. Featuring a 1.5 second response time, the refractometer measures the refractive index of wort and converts it to °Plato with temperature compensation.

Food Analysis

Hanna’s range of food refractometers includes the measurement of sugar and Sodium Chloride (NaCl).
The five sugar refractometers are ideal for analysing fruits, energy drinks, puddings, jams, honey, soups, tofu, soy milk and condiments. The Sodium Chloride refractometer determines the concentration of NaCl in aqueous solutions used in food preparation such as salad dressings, cheeses, milk, condiments, pickles, canned foods, jarred foods, soups, energy drinks, juices, brines and whey. All refractometers are rugged, lightweight and waterproof – ideal for field or lab use.

Glycol Analysis

Hanna’s Glycol refractometers – Propylene and Ethylene – determine the percentage volume and freezing point of Ethylene or Propylene glycol-based solutions.

All Hanna refractometers have dual-level LCD, Automatic Temperature Compensation, BEPS, IP65 Water protection, single-point calibration, small sample size, automatic shut-off, Stainless Steel sample well and ABS thermoplastic casing. All refractometers are rugged, lightweight and waterproof – ideal for field or lab use.

Seawater Analysis

Designed for the analysis of natural or artificial seawater, ocean water, or brackish intermediates, the digital refractometer measures salinity.
Within seconds, the refractive index and temperature are measured and converted into one of three popular measurement units for seawater (not Sodium Chloride): Practical Salinity Units (PSU), parts per thousand (PPT), or specific gravity (SG 20/20). All refractometers are rugged, lightweight and waterproof – ideal for home, field or lab use.

Sugar Analysis

HANNA has five sugar refractometers to meet with food industry requirements.
Choose from the refractive index/Brix, Sucrose, Fructose, Glucose or invert sugar refractometers, all rugged, portable and water-resistant for measurements in the lab or field.

Wine Analysis

Hanna offers five wine refractometers to meet with wine industry requirements.
All our refractometers have dual-level LCD, ATC, BEPS, IP65 Water protection, one-point calibration, small sample size, automatic shut-off, Stainless steel sample well and ABS thermoplastic casing. All refractometers are rugged, lightweight and waterproof – ideal for field or lab use.
