About the range:

The Stuart Undergrad range has been redesigned with a modern new look and features a selection of magnetic stirrers, hotplates and hotplate stirrers. Each unit has a large square 15cm x 15cm base and a stackable design for saving space whilst not in use. Hotplates are available with either chemically resistant glass ceramic that stays cool around the edges to help prevent burns or coated aluminum top plate for rapid heating and better temperature uniformity.

Features:

• Large square 15 x 15cm work plate - easily accomadates up to four 250ml beakers or a large single beaker. 
• Choice of ceramic or coated aluminium plate 
• Maximum plate temperature of 450°C (ceramic plates) or 325°C (coated Aluminium plates)
• Designed with micro-processor controlled dual thermocouples to ensure accurate temperature control and protection from overheating.
• “hot” warning light flashes whenever the plate surface temperature is above 50°C and continues to flash until the temperature drops below 50°C, even when unplugged.
• Analogue dial to set the plate temperature. They also feature a LED ring surronding the control knob which progressively illuminates showing the increase in plate temperature in real time.
• Robust - with a tough aluminium casing to help protect against damage from any knocks. 
• Glazed with BioCote® for antimicrobial protection - BioCote is formulation with silver ions and provides built-in antimicrobial protection reducing odor and stain causing microbes on the surface by up to 99.99%. This help prolong instrument lifespan and contributes to a hygienic lab environment. 
• Designed to prevent accidental spillage on control panel
• IP32 rated for water and dust resistance
• All models include an integral fitting for a retort rod and allow the retort base to slide underneath.

Options: 

• SCT2 temperature controller (available separately) give you the ability to control the temperature of the sample itself as opposed to just setting the plate temperature - control accuracy of ±1°C can be achieved. (Please note, this does not come with a retort rod which must be purchased separately to mount the controller on).
