The Centrifuge 5702 family was specifically developed for low to medium throughput applications with low speed requirements. They are compact in design so that one can fit comfortably on every lab bench, quiet in operation to benefit your work environment, and provide 6 different rotor options to accommodate any type of tube.
A selection of different rotor and adapter options is available.
An IVD version of this model is also available (part number: 5702000060), please contact us for more information

Centrifuge Range Overview
Click below to check out an overview and key features that are present in the entire Eppendorf centrifuge family.
IVD vs GLP
The GLP Eppendorf centrifuge is part of the general lab products range and is suitable for most applications.
Centrifuges with IVD certification are registered as an in vitro diagnostic medical device under the IVD Directive 98/79/EC in Europe. If your lab is involved in clinical work, then you should consider getting a centrifgue with this certification. Having this certification may come at a price premium.
Rotor Nomenclature
Rotors come in two formats - Swing out and Fixed angle. The Eppendorf nomenclature explained so you know exactly what you're getting with each rotor model.

Eppendorf offers a variety of products complying to the IVD Directive 98/79/EC. If your lab work is predominantly a medical, clinical or diagnostic application, an IVD compliant product should be used. If your lab work is rather research oriented, a General Lab Product (GLP) should be used.
Functionally, the products are the same, however the IVD compliant product has a number of additional pieces of documentation and analysis to meet the requirements of 98/79/EC including:
For the above reasons, the IVD-compliant products usually fall at a slightly higher price point.Â
