ELECTRONIC PROGRAMMING
The Camlab CUB range of washing machines incorporate the latest in microprocessor technology. The machines can be programmed to carry out washing, rinsing and drying cycles to meet a wide range of specific or demanding requirements for the decontamination of laboratory glassware.

DEMONSTRATION FACILITIES
Demonstration facilities are available at our Cambridge offices specifically for customer trials and evaluation. This enables potential users to view and to operate the CUB range.
The CUB 3060 washer is supplied without any trays, spray arms or baskets to allow you to configure your washer to your requirements from the wide range of accessories available.
WIDE RANGE OF JET RACKS AND ACCESSORIES
The CUB, EASY and CUB EXTRA can all use the same baskets, minimising spending for core facilities and maximising efficiency (the drying baskets whilst fitting the CUB and EASY will only operate under standard drying conditions, but the jets can still be used to maximum effect). A truly versatile and long lasting range, these washers can be supported by full service back up by factory trained engineers (some restrictions apply and contracts are for UK based machines).
For a basic configuration we recommend using Basic Trolley CS-2 and Spray Trolley CS-1. These will hold a wide variety of supports and baskets. For direct injection washing see our comprehensive range of jet racks. For advice on configuration please call our sales office.
Have you considered your servicing requirements? Much like a car, scientific instruments may need a bit of care to keep them working reliably and at their most accurate.
The Camlab Service Department have over 60 years experience in scientific instrumentation. We have a number of highly qualified internal and field-based service engineers able to perform a variety of jobs including preventative maintenance servicing and calibration.
Camlab can offer yearly service contracts which include two main types of preventative maintenance/calibration services – the back to base service and an engineer visit to your site. These options are can be offered with differing turn around times depending on the instrument type and your requirements along with loan instruments if available.
A typical preventative maintenance service includes the following: Inspection and testing of the unit
Dismantling, cleaning and inspection of the key parts
Correction of minor defects including adjustments if necessary
Reassembly and testing
Take post adjustment / cleaning readings
Supply of calibration certificate
Return of the item to you (back to base services)

A summary of questions to help you chose the right Laborataory Glasswasher
If contaminants are aggressive, a higher grade steel (316L) will be required. Domestic dishwashers and entry level lab glasswashers will likely be a lower grade steel and therefore chambers will likely corrode over time. Large reactors, drums or measuring cylinders will need a larger chamber size. If throughput is high, a larger washer may be more economical than constantly running a smaller washer. Oils can destroy rubber valves and seals so a special ‘Petrol’ version is recommended in this case.
Basic baskets utilise a rotating swing arm so suitable for cleaning beakers and plates. For items such as narrow neck flasks , volumetric cylinders or burettes, using a rack with injectors allows for water and detergent to reach all the way up into the glassware ensuring thorough cleaning.
Filtered forced air drying can be used to dry sterilised glassware. If washing narrow neck flasks and cylinders, forced air can remove condensation left after the wash process. A model with forced air drying leaves glassware dry and ready for immediate use.
Glasswashers can be underbench or freestanding. Larger uprights or wider models feature storage cabinets handy for detergents or clean glassware whilst a slimline model is available for laboratories with limited space.
Cold water is standard, but having a hot water feed can increase wash cycle times. Power is another factor that will improve wash times. A 3-phase power supply will enable quicker heating times over those of a 230V supply. Demineralised water enables sterilisation of glassware and systems can be connected to a laboratory glasswasher, these can be pressurized, floor tank or gravity fed.

From lab bench to computer keyboard the workplace is full of germs. It was tested that desktops had almost 21,000 germs per square inch and that one sneeze can leave behind a minefield of viruses that can live on a surface for up to three days. It doesn't help if your work involves doing dissections or actually culturing up the bacteria yourself! Disinfectant For rapid disinfecti...
After glassware has been washed, it should be dried carefully to avoid introducing any impurities. Drying with paper towels can introduce fibres or dust which could affect high accuracy work. There are 3 main methods for quickly and cleanly drying lab glassware, each with their own specific benefits and drawbacks.
