Can I buy chemicals as a private individual?
The majority of chemicals can be purchased by private individuals but there are a number of products which are restricted for a number of reasons. These include Hazardous chemicals, weapon and drug precursor chemicals and other restricted chemicals.
What's the process for buying Chemicals?
Business User - You should have an account with Camlab so we can verify your status, for online purchases you need to be registered on the website against that business account and logged in. For hazardous and restricted chemicals you may need to undergo an additional check. To facilitate this you should provide a company number when making a purchase. New companies or sole traders may need to provide additional proof of a trading business to ensure we can fulfil your delivery.
These checks may add to the delivery times for these items, The delivery time period will not start until the chemical check has been completed; for clarification please phone 01954233110
Private user - For the purchase of Non-Hazardous chemicals you should be a registered user of the website and be logged in to make these purchases.

With high speed digestion technology (HSD), the HT200S is a great solution for the busy lab, speeding up digestion times for a range of tests, saving time and money. It can produce COD results in just 35 mins, which is a massive time saving of around 2 hours and it can heat from 20°C to 148°C in just 8 minutes (20% faster than the LT200). Cooling of the vials occurs in 13 minutes or under by m...
Hach have replaced LCK414 with LCK1414. The LCK414 cuvette test for measuring the chemical oxygen demand between 5.0 -60 mg/L O2 using the dichromate method has recently changed reference number to LCK1414. This new part number contains 25 vials per box (the LCK414 had 24) and does not need a zero-solution, saving working steps and times. If you would like more information about the LCK1...
A Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) test is used to measure the amount of organic compounds in a water sample. It measures the capacity of water to consume oxygen during the decomposition of organic matter and the oxidation of inorganic chemicals such as Ammonia and nitrate. The most common method of COD testing is where a water sample is pipetted into a COD vial that contains pre-measured re...
Spectrophotometers are relied on by a wide range of laboratories, for tests ranging from specific parameters, like chlorine or metals concentrations, right through to complex analyses of reaction kinetics. When choosing a spectrophotometer the range of specifications and price is vast, so take the time to list the features you need before you buy and make sure you choose the right one. [c...
